Fish and seafood packaging machines

Salmon fillets, fish portions and seafood differ in height, moisture and handling needs. The retail format and intended storage conditions help determine whether a thermoformed pack or a preformed tray is appropriate.

Vacuum skin packaging for fish

Skin film follows the product contour and displays it on its support. Check maximum product height, tray size and film compatibility before selecting a machine. The NEX-240TS and NEX-320TS provide starting points for tabletop solutions with different film dimensions; consult each model specification.

Rigid and flexible film thermoforming

Thermoforming makes the pack within the machine and organises loading into a repeatable sequence. Flexible and rigid films require compatible configurations and tooling. The NEX-420T(Q) provides a platform for discussing both options; forming depth, materials and packaging process are defined with the technical team.

Modified atmosphere trays

For tray presentations, MAP sealing combines a tray, lidding film and a gas mixture specified for the food. Assess sealing-rim cleanliness and liquid management. Packaging does not replace the cold chain or validation of the preservation process.

Information needed to select your machine

Prepare the fish or seafood type, fresh or frozen condition, portion dimensions and weight, maximum height, liquids, target pack and required output. Include cleaning requirements and working conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Are skin and MAP the same process?

No. Skin uses vacuum and film that follows the product contour. MAP introduces a selected gas atmosphere into the pack. The choice depends on the food, materials and presentation requirements.

How long will the packed product last?

There is no universal period. Shelf life must be validated for the product, its initial condition, packaging, process and storage temperature.
